Heights Bungalow
Situated on a small urban lot of just over 4,300 square feet this home answers the challenge of designing and building on a tight space without overwhelming the lot. The young couple enjoys an active lifestyle and the walkability of the area with a hike and bike trail running directly in front of the home.
The craftsman style bungalow details such as exposed rafter tails and a front porch with columns maintain a similar style to their original bungalow. Alley access for a garage and port-a-cochere from the back give full use of the smaller lot and ample front porch space. The owners’ mother had been a clay artist and several pieces are incorporated throughout in bathrooms. Keeping a stained glass window and back door from the prior house give a sense of nostalgia.
