Upscale Blend

Located on a large corner lot near Brays Bayou, this family home was built with multi-generation use in mind. The family of four flooded during Hurricane Harvey, as did their parents a few blocks away.  Instead of both families building new homes, the senior couple decided to downsize in space and spend part of their time at a nearby lake house retreat, and the rest here in Houston in their new quarters.

The home has a connected but separate fully independently accessed residence of 1,000 square feet that includes a full bath, bedroom, kitchen, living room, porch, and parking. The spaces are connected by a shared mud and utility room, and not built above the garage in the typical design of guest quarters.  Natural light is abundant in both spaces and splashes of color are found in small details throughout.

The use for this flexible space varies from aging parents, a college kid home for summer, middle aged kids visiting with grandkids, and many countless ways to enjoy both the nearness and privacy offered.
